ABOUT
I am Daniel Molnar also known as Function Store, but I prefer to be called Dan :)
I am a developer, artist, musician, educator - a specialized generalist, based in Berlin.
My work revolves around interactive and audiovisual installations and performances using TouchDesigner and Python. In short, I can develop a custom system for you, but also make beautiful content for it.

Bio
I come from an engineering background (masters in Electrical Engineering) and have worked 8 years in various roles (embedded software engineer, DSP audio engineer, Python audio engineer) but always had a thing for artistic expression.
On the side I always played in bands, produced music for myself and others as a hobby, but then I decided to move to Berlin to try and take these activities to a more serious level. Shortly after came 2020 and playing shows and networking was no longer in the cards in the music scene.
I was always interested in audiovisuals and played around with Milkdrop2 (Winamp's visualizer engine) and After Effects. Then somehow I discovered TouchDesigner and my life changed forever.
Suddenly I felt at home, in between visuals, music and coding. A trifecta I can not only feel passionate about, but one I could not imagine my life without. I spent all my waking hours exploring TouchDesigner and just after a year of starting this new journey I found myself making YouTube tutorials, holding workshops and working for clients.
I soon left my comfy software engineering life behind and became a freelancer to do what I really love doing: creating experiences, art and software.

If you are stuck and need a helping set of eyes in your TouchDesigner project or interactive installation I am your guy. I've been known to be the go-to guy for many. I am also available for holding workshops on various topics as well as private tutoring!
