Technical Artist for Aka Chang’s installation in Monopol, Berlin
Aka Chang landed in Monopol, Berlin and needed some assistance with controlling DMX winches, which I have had the pleasure to work with when collaborating with LedPulse and DLB for my 2. LedPulse - Metamorphosis piece and 6. LedPulse - System Development.
Then things spiraled out of control a bit and apart from implementing the control of the ring with the motors using inverse kinematics, I ended up creating a system for the LASER mapping as well. It is a very small target in a large space with a floating system (frequent miscalibrations) so it was a big challange!
I was very intrigued by the installation and created my own experiment, bringing the installation to a new dimension via adding rotation to the system as seen below!
